Summary: The book begins with the bus driver walking off the book spread. The pigeon wants to drive the bus and starts with just saying, "I'll tell you what, I'll just steer." He continues to bother the readers saying his mother would let him and ends with feathers flying and eyes bulging while screaming, "LET ME DRIVE THE BUS!" The driver comes back and the pigeon leaves. He later spies a tractor and everything starts over again.
Extension Activity: Have the kids color a picture of the pigeon. Have them color a picture with a pigeon trying to drive something else.
