Summary: Madeline’s Rescue follows Madeline, a little girl who lives in Paris at her boarding school. Madeline is a feisty little girl who likes to torment her teacher by acting wild, but soon she will find out it could come back to haunt her. In the end, all good things come about.

Extension Activities:

*For a geography lesson, let the students try to find France on a map and then locate Paris. Talk about the language, culture, food, school system, etc over there.

*Have the students make Venn diagrams comparing and contrasting boarding schools to public/private schools.

*The beginning illustrations in the book are watercolor. Have the children discuss what they think about the watercolor in comparison to the other illustrations or books they have read. Provide paper and different water colors and let the children paint their own pictures.
