Summary: Daughter asks, "mama, do you love me?" She continues to ask how long she will be loved and if she would still be loved if she turned into a polar bear and chased her or sang with the wolves in their cave. Mama continues to answer, "I will still love you." In the end, Mama says, "I will love you, forever and for always, because you are my Dear One."

Extension Activity: Talk about the animals in the book, draw pictures of them. Use the extra information in the back on the Inuit to talk about their culture and the animals they are surrounded by. Look back in the book and compare differences between their clothing and surroundings and ours.
