Extension Activities:
-Before you read the book, you could have the kids draw a picture of a police officer in their neighborhood, and explain what they do. After you read the book you can have them reflect on what they originally said to the different facts that they learned through the book.
-You could have a police officer come in and talk to the class about what he does, it could be a great way to keep the kids interested in the topic and after the officer comes in and talk have the students write a thank you for what he/she does.
