Summary: - This book explains much of the daily life of the residents of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico through photographs. The author describes what is happening in each picture as well as provides background information about the context of the culture, location, and historical significance. Specifically, this book focuses on the ancestry of the Mayan people who live in Yucatan.

Extension Activities: -
--Students will research the Mayan culture and focus specifically on one of the points of interest that is addressed in this book, such as the ancient city of Chichen Itza. Within this research, students will compile a portfolio of pictures to accompany the facts that they use. These pictures must be accurate, but the pictures can and should come in many different forms (i.e. personal illustration, photographs from the internet, magazine article pictures, etc.)
