Summary- This book is about a Native American girl who loves horses. Her people see that she understands the herd in a special way. They would follower her every where. One day a thunderstorm hit and took the girl far from home. The horses were frightened and did not act the same. The girl was lost and finally returned home to the horses.


Extension Activity- You could have the students discuss a time when they felt they were good at something or had a special interest in something. For younger students you could have them make horses from construction paper and use yarn as the tail.
