Summary- This story is about a little girl named Madeline, who lives at a boarding school. One day while Madeline and the other girls where on a walk with Miss Clavel, Madeline fell into the river. They all thought that she was dead until a dog saved her. That night the dog came back with them and they named her Genevieve. All of the girls loved Genevieve she did everything with them. Until one day in May the board of trustees came to inspect the school, and they said that Genevieve had to go. The girls and Miss Clavel searched high and low for Genevieve, but they did not find her. But in the middle of the night Miss Clavel woke up to find Genevieve outside of the school. And later that night Miss Clavel woke up to find that Genevieve had puppies.
