Summary: - This book is a biography about the movement that began because of a single action by a woman named Rosa Parks. The book is a little about the actual day that Rosa Parks didn't give up her seat on the bus, but its also about what happened because of it. Its about the group of women that made the signs saying things such as "Don't ride the buses" and "Support Rosa Parks." It also tells a little about Martin Luther King Jr's Speech.

Extension Activities: - This book would be really good to use during Black History month. You could have each student choose one of the many famous African American people in the history of the United States to read a biography about. After they read the book, the student could write a paper about how they could relate to the person. Another topic they could right about would be just the person themselves and what they did.
