Summary: This is a story that includes the imagination of the story's main character, Max. The day that Max wore his wold costume he was sent to his room because he told his morther that he will eat her up. He was sent to his room without eating his dinner. While he was sitting in his room, it transformed into another world. He sailed in the ocean in a boat to a place where the Wild Things are. He lived and tamed the Wild Thinkgs and they then made him their King. After their wild rumps Max realized that he wanted to be where people loved him. He got back into his boat and sailed away and back to his bedroom. When he returned home he found dinner was waiting for him and it was still hot.
Extension Activity: For this extension activity, the kids are going to make their own monster masks. The teacher should provide them with all the materials. They would need a paper plate to use as the main part of the mask, and any other additional material depending on what type of animal mask they are making.
