Summary: - This book is an A to Z book about different animals around the world. Each page is about a new animal. Not only are there pictures of each of them, but there is also a short, four-lined poem about the animal. This teaches children about different animals, and not only their name, but what they do as well.
Extension Activities: - For this book you could have each student choose an animal from the book to do more research on. They could create a short, informational book about the animal and the cover could be their own illustration of the animal. Another idea is to create a classroom ABC book of animals. Each student would be assigned a letter, choose an animal other than the one in the book to find information about, and create a page of the book. After everyone is finished, you could put it all together and keep it in the classroom for the students to look at.
