Summary: Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed is about five little monkeys who get into their nightly routines by putting on their pajamas, and brushing their teeth. Their momma tucks them into bed expecting them to go to sleep. The little monkeys have something else in mind though. The five little monkeys start jumping on the bed, until each one falls off and bumps their head. Their momma calls the doctor and the doctor says "NO MORE MONKEYS JUMPING ON THE BED!" Through the great pictures and easy to remember rhymes, this book is awesome for young kids learning to read and count. At the end after all the monkeys are hurt and in bed, the momma monkey decided she's going to jump on the bed. This is a funny book that kids will love.
Extension Activity: Teacher should supply 5 little stuffed animal monkeys and one bigger monkey. The 5 little monkeys would be the kids and the one big monkey would be the mom in the book. Also bring in some props for the animals, like a play bed, clothes for the monkeys, play tooth brushes, and some band-aids. Have the kids act out the story with the monkeys while the teacher reads the story aloud. Kids can take turn acting out the story.
