Soon after setting the mouse free, the mouse hears the lions roar off in the distance. The mouse follows the lion’s cries until he finds the lion has been caught in a poacher's net. The mouse decides to return the favor to the lion by gnawing away at the rope until at last the lion is untangled and able to be set free.
Extension Activity: Since this book deals with random act’s of kindness, my extension activity would consist of the children making a “coupon book"; where each coupon would contain a random act of kindness that could be done around their home. For example: one of the pages in the booklet could say “this coupon is good for: doing the dishes after dinner”, or other various household chores or family duties.
