Summary: -This book introduces children to many new objects with different textures by using colored photographs.

Extension Activities:
-Have each kid bring in three things from home: one rough, one smooth, and one shiny. Make sure that each child writes a paragraph on what they bring in, and present them all to the class.
-Have each child draw a picture of something they have felt that is the roughest, the smoothest, and the shiniest. Have them compare and contrast their results with a partner.
-Give each child sandpaper, aluminum foil, and wrapping paper, along with construction paper. Give them all the options of markers and crayons and have them create anything they would like but they must use all of the material they were given. Show them how they created something smooth, rough, and shiny and reexplain the concept.
